Account questions
Is the chat really free?
Yes. Public rooms and registration are free. We have no paid tier and no premium features held behind a paywall.
Why should I register if guests can chat too?
Registered accounts persist between visits, can join member-only rooms, can create a personal circle, can use email notifications, and have access to the full set of avatars. Guests are great for trying the service but are limited.
I did not receive my verification email.
Wait a couple of minutes, then check the spam or promotions folder. If it still has not arrived, log into the chat and use the "Send Verification Email" button on the profile screen. If your email provider keeps rejecting our messages, write to us through the contact page from the same address.
I forgot my password.
Use the "Forgot your password" link on the login screen. The reset email arrives at the address linked to your account. The link expires after a short window for security reasons; if it expires, request a new one.
Can I change my nickname?
Registered accounts keep the nickname they signed up with so that other members can recognise them across sessions. If you have a strong reason to change it — impersonation, harassment, a sensitive personal situation — please contact us.
How do I delete my account?
Send a deletion request through the contact page from the email address linked to your account. We confirm your identity, then delete the account, your personal information, and any rooms you own. Public messages already sent can be removed on request as part of the same flow.
Rooms and circles
How do I switch rooms?
Click the "Circles" button in the chat header. The modal shows every room you can currently join, along with icons that explain the access level (open, registered only, members, password). Pick a room and click "Switch Circle".
What is a personal circle?
A personal circle is a private chat room owned by you. Only invited members can join. As the owner you can set a password, decide who can upload media, generate invite links, and remove members. You can have one circle per account.
How do invite links work?
Inside the circle settings you can generate or refresh an invite link. Anyone with the link can join the circle, but only registered users can accept the link. If the room also has a password, invited members still need that password to enter.
Can I have more than one circle?
Each verified account can own one circle at a time. You can delete your existing circle to create a new one, but deleting a circle also deletes the chat history inside it.
Media uploads
Why can I not upload photos in this room?
Each room owner decides whether public uploads, private uploads, or both are allowed, and whether they are open to everyone, only registered users, or only verified users. If you cannot upload, the room has restricted that feature for users at your level.
What file types can I share?
Common image formats (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP) are supported, along with a small number of short clip formats. We compress and resize images to keep the chat fast for everyone.
Can other people save my photos?
Anyone in the room can take a screenshot or save the image you upload. Treat anything you upload as something that could be re-shared, even though we do not encourage it. Our community guidelines ban sharing other people's photos in a way meant to embarrass or extort them.
Moderation and reporting
Someone is harassing me. What do I do?
Use the warn or block option on their profile, then report them through the contact page with their nickname, the room, and the approximate time. The safety guide goes deeper on this.
Why was I banned?
Bans usually follow a pattern of behaviour rather than one isolated message. Common reasons are repeated harassment, hate speech, sexual content, scams, spam, and ban evasion. Severe categories — such as content involving minors — lead to a permanent ban on first offence.
How do I appeal a ban?
Send a message through the contact page from the same email address that the banned account uses. Explain what you understand about the ban and why you believe it should be reversed. Do not create a new account in the meantime — that triggers an automatic extension and makes the appeal harder.
Are private circles moderated?
Platform rules apply inside circles, and serious complaints are investigated when reported. We do not routinely read circle messages, but we will look at logs when there is a credible report of harm. The circle owner is responsible for day-to-day conduct in their room.
Technical questions
The chat is not loading new messages.
The chat uses a live socket connection. If your network drops, messages stop arriving. Tap the refresh button at the top right of the chat to reconnect. If it still does not work, reload the page or try a different network.
Sinhala text is showing as boxes or weird letters.
Your device probably does not have a Sinhala font installed, or the text is in a legacy font that needs converting. The Sinhala typing guide walks through both situations and includes a free converter.
Does the platform work on slow connections?
Yes. The chat is intentionally lightweight. The biggest data cost is media uploads, so if your connection is slow you can disable atmosphere animations in your profile settings to make the chat even lighter.
Which browsers are supported?
Any modern browser updated within the last two years works: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Brave, and the in-app browsers used by Facebook and Instagram. Very old Internet Explorer versions are not supported.
Why is the site not available in my country?
We restrict access from regions where the platform has been used disproportionately for fraud and where local law makes it difficult to operate. If you believe your country was blocked in error, write to us.
